Roofing Insurance Claim
Understanding The Insurance Claim Process
In the event you are affected by wind, hail, or any other weather-related storms, you should always have your roof inspected by a professional to assess damages that may have occurred because of the storm. Nxt Level Roofing has a team of professionals that are here to help! Although we are not allowed to directly advise you on whether you should file a claim under your homeowners insurance policy, we will provide you with a thorough damage assessment to help you make the most informed decision.
If you choose to file a damage claim, the first thing your insurance carrier will do is assign a claim number and schedule an adjuster to come on-site to inspect your property for damage. Upon completion of the inspection, the adjuster will put together a report of their findings and submit it to your insurance carrier for final approval. In some cases, the adjuster will determine there is insufficient damage and, therefore, the claim will be denied. In other cases, the adjuster will either approve repairs to the damaged areas or approve a full replacement, depending on the amount of damage that was found.
The claim approval amount will be determined by the limitations of your policy and if you have an Actual Cash Value (ACV) or a Replacement Cost Value (RCV) policy. You will be responsible to pay the deductible amount as it is outlined in your policy and the remaining funds will be issued directly to you for completion of the approved scope of work. For a better understanding of your policy, you should reach out directly to your insurance agent to get answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
